The Tragedy of the Tree

I love Christmas! So much so that the first thing I did when I got back from Thanksgiving with my family, was to get out all of my decorations. Since it was Sunday, I had to wait until the next day to get my Christmas tree. I was so excited and went as soon as work was over. I picked out a beautiful 7 ft Grand Fir and my friend Barbara came over to help me put it up. We painstakinly got it centered and secure and thoroughly enjoyed decorating the tree. However, when I got home from work late the next day, I could barely open the door because my poor tree had toppled over and was laying in front of the door. I was so upset because I had tried to get my apartment all ready for an interview I had that night with the newspaper. Luckily the newspaper woman was kind enough to pick my tree up and lean it against the window but all of the decorations fell off and it just looked sad! My friend Mary took pity on me last night though and graciously came over to help me fix my tree. It now looks pretty and festive and we tied it to the curtain rod so that baby isn't going anywhere! Hopefully it will remain unscathed the rest of season...
